How often will my site be backed up?
Daily by default, which suits most sites. Stores taking orders all day get hourly database snapshots so a restore never costs more than an hour of orders. The schedule is set to how fast your site changes — that's part of the setup, not an extra.
Where are the backups stored?
On independent off-server storage, separate from your hosting account. That's non-negotiable: a backup on the same server as the site protects you from small mistakes but not from the server itself failing, being hacked, or your hosting account being suspended. Off-server means the disaster can't reach the recovery.
Isn't my hosting company's backup enough?
It's better than nothing and worse than you think: host backups typically live on the same infrastructure, run on the host's schedule not yours, keep few generations, and restoring often means a support ticket and hours of waiting. They're a decent second layer. They're not a recovery plan you control.
